Louisiana with it’s people are just plain beautiful, it inspires the rest of the country with food and culture. When it comes to good eating it never disappoints. Here at Mel’s you will definitely get first class service, friendly staff, clean restaurant, and some of the best fried chicken, cat fish and shrimp, Perfectly seasoned! The gumbo is delicious! I can keep going with all menu, I highly recommend. I will be back

Not from LA but this is the best fried chicken I e had in the state so far. Helped me understand what Louisiana fried chicken should taste like. The fish was okay, red beans and rice was soupy but so much flavor, couldnt be mad at it. Everything I had was fresh. Found me a new travel stop for when im on the road!

They did not have the boudin balls that we originally went there for but do no regret it one bit. Finish dinner and chicken tender meals are delicious. The sauces are different then what my Texas self is use to but they tasted awesome. Highly recommend.

While en route from Alabama to Texas, a spontaneous stop for fuel led to a delightful culinary discovery. The catfish was exceptionally prepared, and the coleslaw was of the highest quality. This experience underscores the excellence of Louisiana cuisine.
